Sunny skies. Devastating heat.
We’ve just returned from a screening of our film Lost Snows of the Alps in Chamonix, France. It’s a village cradled in the shadow of Mont Blanc– the tallest mountain in the Alps. Our invited guests (among others) were those interviewed in our film: Sandra Griffith, the co-founder of L’Ecole des Glaciers- – a progressive school that teaches students the importance of wilderness areas; Antoine Pin, the head of Protect Our Winters France – a group of outdoor sports enthusiasts who inform Alpine visitors about the importance of addressing climate change; Jennifer Stretton, a mountain guide and World Climate Relay coordinator. Ironically, Europe is now suffering a historic and devastating heat wave, impacting glacial loss even more.
